Hagar: Genesis 16:13

Hagar was Sarah’s (Abraham's wife) Egyptian servant — with that being said, she did what was asked of her. She experienced prejudice, injustice, abuse, and despair. On top of that, she is seen as the covenant you don’t want. Despite her hardship, the Lord saw her. She is the first person in the Bible to give God a name, El-Roi. For those who have ever been through hardship, feeling like a failure, a bad mother, or who have faced judgment or hatred, this is for you. You are seen, valued, and loved by God. He is here to offer you love and compassion.
